FAIRFAX, Va. IT engineering firm Salient CRGT has been awarded the first of four expected options on its $482 million contract supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) cyber, networking, and engineering services.

The five-year "SANDBAR" contract was initially awarded in September 2019, as a competitive order under the General Services Administration (GSA) Alliant 2 Vehicle, as a way to directly support the DoD in the design, development, deployment, sustainment, and life cycle management of specialized information technologies as the government integrates, upgrades, and modernizes its warfighter networks; cyberspace operations; and airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations.
