DULLES, Va. Raytheon officials opened a new cybersecurity demonstration and research facility in the Washington area this month, calling it the Global Cyber Solutions Center (GCSC), officially located in Sterling, Va. The new center is designed to aid U.S. government agencies, other nations, and companies understand how to best guard their networks and use the latest technologies and approaches, as well as training, to their existing cybersecurity programs.

The new cybersecurity center, located at the headquarters of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, will enable Raytheon to demonstrate, test, and assess new cyber products and services to figure out how they can best integrate into a user's Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC).

"The GCSC creates a unique environment for our customers to understand and experience comprehensive cybersecurity solutions that address the increased threats associated with the Internet of Things, the rapidly rising use of mobile devices, and ever more reliance on cloud computing," says David Wajsgras, president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services.

Earlier this year, Raytheon also brought its Cyber Innovation Center online in the United kingdom, and has continued to expand the use of its Cyber Operations, Development, and Evaluation (CODE) Center. The CODE Center, a cyber range based in Northern Virginia, evaluates systems and hardware and emulates any size and type of networked environment, such as those used for critical infrastructure and in security operations centers.
