Embedded software security testing solution released by Wind River and Coverity
NewsFebruary 06, 2012
SAN FRANCISCO AND ALAMEDA, Calif. Officials at Wind River Alameda, Calif., and Coverity in San Francisco have joined hands create a solution that integrates a development testing platform from Coverity into embedded software products from Wind River.
Coverity engineers will provide an evaluation edition of Coverity Static Analysis, that is pre-configured for Wind River’s Workbench. It supports Wind River Linux and Wind River’s VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS).
The joint effort enables embedded software development teams to design security into the embedded software development process while addressing security vulnerabilities as software code is developed.
Development teams will be able to detect and fix errors with Coverity’s tool during the development coding phase before sending applications to quality assurance teams. They will then use Wind River Test Management, including packages for security, a test automation system designed embedded device software testing, to run dynamic tests while doing quality assurance.
