Training and simulation contract won by Riptide Software team

ORLANDO, Fla. U.S. Marine Corps officials selected Riptide Software, Cole Engineering, and Assured Information Technology to support and enhance the Supporting Arms Virtual Trainer (SAVT). The contract is worth an estimated $49 million.
Under contract, the team will support and enhance the SAVT for the U.S. Marines. All hardware and software enhancements and upgrades will be designed and developed by Riptide providing expanded capability for the Marines. The project is expected to kick off this month, and Riptide plans to hire 10-15 engineers and military support specialists over the next 1-3 years.
Riptide will support the Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS) by providing training support services and full life-cycle sustainment for SAVT training systems at: MCB Camp Pendleton, CA, MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, CA, MCB Kaneohe Hawaii, MCB Camp Lejeune, NC, MCB Camp Hansen, Okinawa Japan, MCAS Yuma, AZ and the SAVT Test Berth, Orlando, FL.
The SAVT training system enhances operational readiness and tactical proficiency of USMC Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC), Forward Observers (FO), and Forward Air Controllers (FAC) in the employment of Supporting Arms (SAs) and Close Air Support (CAS). The SAVT system provides a standardized method for training Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for: Naval Surface Fire (NSF), Tactical Air (TA), Artillery, and Mortar support in joint expeditionary operations.
