HERNDON, VA. Officials at Raytheon Trusted Computer Solutions (RTCS) released their Trusted Mail System cross domain solution for securing policy-enforced email exchanges and attachments between users on different networks. The software eliminates the need for switching between systems at multiple levels.

Department of Defense (DoD) and federal government agencies deploying Trusted Mail System will eliminate the need for multiple email clients for the same user, which will should improve productivity and reduce costs. The tool also prescreens and enforces security policy on all email content including the size, type, and number of attachments. Implementation requires no changes to the user's desktop.

"We developed this product based on our cross domain customer's request for a 'single inbox,'" says Ed Hammersla, COO for Raytheon Trusted Computer Solutions.

The Raytheon solution uses their Trusted Gateway System (TGS) as the Protection Level 4 cross domain guard component. This keeps malicious data from being transferred from the low side to the high side network and also ensures that sensitive data is not inadvertently or intentionally transferred from high to low.
