Altamonte Springs, Florida, December 15, 2020 – EIZO Rugged Solutions Inc., a provider of ruggedized graphics and video products, has released the Hydra 1004R – a ruggedized, standalone 3G-SDI 1×4 video splitter designed to operate in extreme environments with MIL-STD-810 compliance.

The Hydra 1004R has five front-facing connectors, making it easily accessible in installations. It splits a 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, or SD-SDI input signal across its four 3G-SDI outputs (BNC) for viewing or distribution. It also automatically syncs to the input resolution.

The Hydra 1004R features built-in signal regeneration, which re-clocks the 3G-SDI signal to ensure that the video quality is not compromised. The signal regeneration conditions the SDI signals to reduce video jitter and data interference to provide low-latency video distribution.

This small form factor device is both SWaP (size, weight, and power) efficient and a cost-effective way to distribute high-quality video to different locations in demanding applications such as rugged airborne and ground-based ISR video surveillance situations.

Supporting a long life cycle of over ten years, this product has been designed to meet stringent stress, regression, and aging requirements as per MIL-STD-810 standards. It operates under an extended temperature range (-40 to 85°C), high humidity levels (95% without condensation), shock (up to 40g), and vibration (0.1g²/Hz). Power and SDI link status LEDs are visible on the front of the unit for easily checking device status.
