Use existing FPGA digital I/O with transceiver for proper decoding

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. Holt Integrated Circuits has launched the HI-15850, a 3.3V MIL-STD-1553 dual transceiver with 1.8 V, 2.5 V, and 3.3 V-compatible digital I/O; these compatibilities are aimed at giving users more flexibility to interface with a broad range of FPGAs, avoiding the use of level shifters and other additional circuitry.

The part is packaged in the smallest available MIL-STD-1553 transceiver package, a 48-pin plastic 6 x 6 mm QFN with an exposed heat sink pad, which may be soldered to the PCB ground plane for optimal thermal dissipation. Users may order the device in industrial (−40 oC to +85 oC) and extended (−55 oC to +125 oC) temperature versions, with optional burn-in available on the extended temperature range.
