Diehl Defence awards Elbit Systems $73 million contract to supply infrared systems for the German Air Force

ISRAEL. Elbit Systems Ltd., international high technology company, announced it was awarded a $73 million contract from Diehl Defence GmbH & Co. KG, a German arms manufacturer, to provide J-MUSIC Directed Infrared Counter Measure (DIRCM) systems for the German Air Forces' Airbus A400M aircraft.

 

DIRCM systems are designed to protect aircraft against heat-seeking, ground-to-air missiles. The J-MUSIC system specifically is optimized to protect larger aircrafts such as tankers, transports and special mission platforms.

The contract will be performed over a four-year period.

Elbit Systems will work with Diehl Defence and Airbus Defence and Space for the integration of the J-MUSIC DIRCM systems inside the A400M Defence Aid Support Systems protection suite.
