LINTHICUM, MD. The Scalable Agile Beam Radar (SABR), designed by Northrop Grumman engineers will be used by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Air Force and Taiwan F-16 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) upgrade and modernization programs.

SABR, Northrop Grumman's latest airborne fire control radar, is a multifunction AESA radar that is designed for low risk retrofits in current F-16s and can be integrated in other aircraft. It brings enhanced situational awareness, improved detection, high-resolution SAR maps, electronic protection, automatic target cueing, all-environment precision strike capability, and interleaved air-to-air and air-to-surface mode operations.

Work on this radar program upgrade will be executed at Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector headquarters facility located in Linthicum.
