FALLS CHURCH, Va. Northrop Grumman has won a contract to provide the Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) with its LITENING multisensor targeting and surveillance for installation on the RDAF's F-16 aircraft.

According to Northrop Grumman, LITENING provides pilots with the ability to detect, identify, and track targets at extremely long ranges.

The LITENING pods, which mount on the aircraft's exterior, enables coordinated air-to-ground and air-to-air capabilities, data links for cooperative targeting, laser spot search and track, laser markers, and J-series weapons employment capabilities. The LITENING system has been integrated on a number of U.S. Navy and Air Force aircraft, including the A-10, AV-8B, B-52, C-130, F-15, F-16, and F/A-18.
