New VME/VXS SBC for radar and C4ISR applications released by Emerson Network Power

SAN JOSE, Calif. Emerson Network Power engineers released a new VME/VXS single-board computer (SBC) at the DesignWest show in San Jose, Calif., this week. The MVME8100 device has a Freescale P5020 QorIQ processor and is targeted radar, sonar, and other C4ISR applications.

It has as much as 8GB high speed DDR3-1333MHz ECC memory and 8GB eMMC NAND Flash. The device also has 512KB of non volatile F-RAM, designed for critical data storage, dynamic program updates, data logs, and dynamic security.

Rugged variants of the MVME8100 are available with extended shock, vibration, temperature and conduction cooling. The operating temperature range of the rugged versions are - 40 degrees to 85 degrees Celsius. Rugged models are capable of operating with as much as 10G of vibration (15 to 2000 Hz) and can withstand an 11 millisecond shock of as much as 40G. Conformal coating is also available.
