Companies partner at Xponential to intro VTOL UAVs with new engines

XPONENTIAL 2018--DENVER. A-techsyn -- a manufacturer of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicles, fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), target-acquisition drones, and communications/autopilot systems -- is introducing the first VTOL equipped with an engine from 3W-International's partner company Sky Power at Xponential 2018. The A-techsyn VTOL will be shown as part of the 3W-International booth.
The CGT45-SLT vertical takeoff aircraft was equipped with the retrofitted engine as part of the collaboration with 3W-International and Sky Power: “The CGT45-SLT has been used in Turkey for some time now. However, we were looking for a new engine concept in order to increase the range and pay load”, explains Gokhan Celik, managing director of A-techsyn.
According to information from 3W-International, the CGT45-SLT is a 4.5-m (14.76-foot) wingspan, T-tail UAV that uses electric-powered motors for takeoff and landing without the need for a runway or catapult; the VTOL can take off from a table and land with high accuracy on a 5 m by 5 m (16.4-foot) surface. The composite airframe has a payload capacity of 4 kg (8.8 pounds). The basic level of VTOL uses three separate communication systems for datalink, video link, and first-person viewer. The UAV's video link uses IP communication and 128-bit SSL encryption to secure the data transferred, with the option to broadcast both video and data.
