Endeavor Robotics receives delivery order for 32 small unmanned ground vehicles

CHELMSFORD, Mass. Robotics company Endeavor Robotics received a delivery order for 32 small unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to the U.S. Armed Forces. The UGVs will be equipped with the company's uPoint Multi-Robot Control System, which consists of an Android-based, rugged, tablet controller and Persistent Systems' MPU5 Radio network.

The integration of the mesh networking with Endeavor Robotics robots will increase the distance of unmanned ground operations and enabling operators to control or observe multiple robot assets through a common controller interface, officials say.

The uPoint Multi-Robot control system decreases on-robot training time by leveraging technology and familiar tablet-based user-interfaces. The Endeavor Robotics small UGV has been in service across the United States Armed Forces since 2009. It weighs less than 20 pounds and meets IP67 ratings.
