Navy selects 23 organizations to bid in UUV R&D program

SAN ANTONIO. U.S. Navy officials selected 23 organization including Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) to support unmanned undersea vehicle (UUV) research and development (R&D) under a $800 million contract over the next five years.

Under the indefinite delivery/ indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract, SwRI will bid on task orders issued by the Navy to support its undersea vehicle research and development program. The IDIQ supports the procurement of materials and services used to develop, build, fabricate and support the Unmanned Undersea Vehicle Family of Systems.
