HAIFA, Israel. The Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) has tapped Elbit Systems to provide and operate flight simulators for the upgraded C-130H and C-130J transport aircraft operated by the Israeli Air Force (IAF).

The contract -- valued at $74 million dollars -- covers a thirteen-year period, which includes a setup phase of approximately three years plus a ten-year operating period.

Under the terms of the accord, Elbit Systems will set up and operate the upgraded C-130H and C-130J training center for the IAF, which will house two interconnected flight simulators that enable both single and squadron training and a ground-crew simulator that enables high-fidelity training on aircraft-maintenance procedures.
