U.S. Army places remanufacturing order for 117 AH-64D Apaches

MESA, Ariz. U.S. Army officials placed a remanufacturing order with Boeing for 117 AH-64D Apaches to upgrade to the AH-64E configuration. The contract valued at an estimated $1.5 billion includes Longbow Crew Trainers, logistic support, and spares.
This latest agreement modifies an existing contract with the U.S. Army for the full-rate production of lots 5 and 6 Apache helicopters. Under contract, the Army will return 117 AH-64D Apaches to Boeing's production center in Meza, Arizona to be remanufactured into the AH-64E.
