U.S. Navy Hawkeye Integrated Training System upgrade won by Rockwell Collins

ORLANDO, Fla. Rockwell Collins won a U.S. Navy contract to upgrade the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Integrated Training System (HITS). the announcement was made this week at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando this week.

The work will include modifications to the maintenance trainer, the tactics trainer, and spares as well as an operational flight trainer provided by subcontractor ASI. The initial value of the contract is $26 million with a potential total value of $40 million.

Rockwell Collins was selected as the prime contractor for the major training systems on the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, the Navy’s replacement for the E-2C. These training systems include the Hawkeye Integrated Training System for Aircrew (HITS-A) and the Hawkeye Integrated Training System for Maintenance (HITS-M).
