Global Information Grid contract worth $1.911 billion dollars won by Lockheed Martin

WASHINGTON. Officials at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) selected Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions in Manassas, Va., to provide the support services necessary for carrying out the daily operations of networks and related services for the Global Information grid as well as to sustain the current network and provide future technology enhancements. The total value of the contract is $1.911 billion.

Performance of the contract will take place predominantly in the continental U.S., but support services also will be required at various locations outside the continental U.S. Included in the performance period is a base period of performance of three years -- from July 9, 2012 to July 8, 2015 -- and two two-year option periods, for a total of seven years. This solicitation was put out via the Federal Business Opportunities website. The DISA Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) -- located at Scott Air Force Base, IL. -- is the contracting activity.
