The John J. Peters Student Innovation fund has been established in memory of John J. Peters, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Performance Technologies.

John J. Peters, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Performance Technologies, passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2009 at age 51. John was a well known innovator and visionary and many of us were fortunate to have worked with him over the years.

John was the driving force behind PICMG 2.16, the industry’s first open switched serial interconnect standard, which is based on CompactPCI. He was also the father of the VME-64 multiplexed address/data architecture.

John was a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and maintained ties to the school throughout his career. In recognition of the many contributions John made to our industry, Performance Technologies has established the John J. Peters Student Innovation fund at RIT. The fund will be used to provide grants for innovative student projects. More information about this can be found on the Performance Technologies website www.pt.com.
