Magellan utilizes conduction cooling for improved ruggedness and reliability through the use of a heatspreader mounted on its bottom side, resulting in optimal thermal management and increased space for I/O functions and connectors. This innovative design makes it possible for Magellan to integrate dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, 4 serial ports, 4 USB ports, 1 SATA port, VGA and LVDS video output, an on-board USB flashdisk socket up to 8GB, and a +7-36V DC/DC power supply. For I/O expansion Magellan offers stackable PCI-104 or SUMIT expansion, and a FeaturePak zero height expansion socket. Magellan supports Linux, Windows XP, Windows Embedded Standard, and Windows Embedded CE.
