Through its Extension-of-Life® program, Rochester is now successfully re-creating the AM7968/7969 family of communication devices that match the original form, fit and function, to provide lifetime support. Up until the year 2000, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) had been manufacturing a specific group of semiconductors for communication-based applications among varying industries including medical. Since then, Rochester Electronics has been the fully authorized source to continue the support of the AM7969 (in conjunction with the 7968) TAXIchip Receiver (available in 28-pin PLCC, DIP, LCC, custom packages and ROHS compliant) communication devices.
