TMLS unleashes Commando Select 90mm Direct Fire armored vehicle at AUSA 2013

WASHINGTON. Textron Marine and Land Systems (TMLS) unveiled the Commando Select 90mm Direct Fire armored vehicle at the 2013 Association of the United States (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Conference in Washington, DC.
The Commando Select 90mm Direct Fire armored vehicle houses a lightweight CMI Defense Cockerill CSE 90LP weapons system, allowing the vehicle day/night combat capability for a range of counter-insurgency and conventional combat operations.
“Our new vehicles are a direct response to multiple international customers seeking additional firepower in highly-protected, mobile, and sustainable armored vehicles,” says TMLS senior VP and GM, Tom Walmsley.
The Commando Select family is comprised of an ambulance variant, mortar variant, and turreted variant. More than 8,000 Commando Select vehicles are currently in use, with 600 additional vehicles being manufactured currently.
