MELVILLE, N.Y. Comtech Telecommunications Corp. reports that its Government Solutions segment?s Command and Control Technologies group has received an order for $7.5 million to supply troposcatter equipment to support U.S. Army activities throughout the Korean peninsula.

According to information from Comtech, troposcatter systems enable data rates exceeding that of typical satellite communications (up to 22 Mbps per system) without incurring any ongoing costs for usage and operate with minimal latency, typically less than 15 ms. In addition, because of the unique nature of troposcatter propagation, communications using such systems are extremely difficult to intercept covertly.

Comtech's Command & Control Technologies group provides mission-critical, highly-mobile command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions to governmental and commercial users.
