ARLINGTON, Va. The U.S. Army has awarded BAE Systems a contract that paves the way for full-rate production of the company?s M109A7 Self-Propelled Howitzer and M992A3 ammunition carrier vehicles. The contract includes an initial $413.7 million portion to complete the third and final option for low-rate initial production on the program; the contract includes additional options that would begin the full-rate production phase, which -- if exercised -- would bring the cumulative value of the award to approximately $1.7 billion.

ARLINGTON, Va. U.S. Navy officials tapped BAE Systems to modernize the guided missile cruiser, USS Anzio (CG 68), at the company's shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia. The contract is worth $45.3 million, but has a cumulative value of $53.1 million if all options are exercised.

Optical specialists Meopta will support vital line-of-sight technology for the BAE Systems CV90 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) under the terms of a recent Memorandum of Understanding with defense and security company Saab. The agreement, signed at NATO Days 2017 -- held in September in the Czech Republic -- will cover potential local production of key components for the CV90?s fire-control system; Meopta and Saab are subcontractors on that system.
