Satellites for MEO OPIR get second order from Space Systems Command - News
October 23, 2024EL SEGUNDO, Calif. Millennium Space Systems won an order from U.S. Space Systems Command for a second plane of six Epoch 1 space vehicles for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) resilient missile-warning, tracking, and defense architecture in medium Earth orbit (MEO), through a firm-fixed-price/ other transaction agreement valued at $386 million.

Millennium Space Systems (a Boeing company) announced that its Tetra-1 space vehicle -- launched in November 2022 in conjunction with the U.S. Space Force's Space Systems Command -- is ready for mission operations as it has successfully deployed the vehicle from its host, initialized all components and subsystems, and performed systems checkout while in super-geosynchronous (Super GEO) orbit.
