Next-gen SATCOM radio delivered for certification testing for U.S. Army - News

MCKINNEY, Texas. Raytheon won a $36 million Army contract to fund the certification and testing of a new upgrade to the AN/ARC-231 Multi-Mode Communications System. The enhanced systems will enable the highest level of security for voice and data communications for more than 7,000 fixed wing, rotary, and unmanned Army platforms – such as Blackhawks, Apaches, Gray Eagles and Chinooks.

TUCSON, Ariz. Raytheon has been selected for an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with an estimated ceiling value of $634 million. The TACOM Strategic Service Solutions (TS3) contract is a five-year multiple-award vehicle agreement with the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Warren, Mich.

Raytheon’s Patriot Air and Missile Defense System takes another step towards production readiness as engineer’s upgrade the Patriot’s radar main array with Gallium Nitride (GaN) based Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technology. Engineers hope to have the system up and running in early 2016.
