CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Rockwell Collins officials joined hands under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) Required Navigation Performance-Area Navigation (RNP-RNAV) Flight Management System that will enable more software reuse in naval flight systems by being aligned to Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) standard.

Taking advantage of a previously planned range maintenance flight, Rockwell Collins and Common Range Integrated Instrumentation System (CRIIS) Program Office (SPO) personnel worked with The Atlantic Test Range (ATR) personnel to perform a live, risk-reduction flight using production form, fit, and function F/A-18 airborne and ground equipment from the CRIIS program.
