Cybersupport for major U.S. Navy command to come from Alion Science & Technology

MCLEAN, Va. Alion Science and Technology has won a contract worth $59 million to support the enhancement of computer-based weapons systems for the U.S. Navy Warfare Development Command (NWDC).

Under the terms of the contract, Alion will provide engineering research and analysis plus identification and delivery of concept and software to improve the NWDC's weapons systems representations and assist in wargaming exercises and experimentation.

NWDC has tasked Alion with specifically working in the fields of advanced electromagnetic spectrum (EMS)-dependent weapons and automated cyber opposition (OPFOR) platforms including C4ISR [command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance] systems.
