Ok, end of my first day at Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany and I?m impressed. It?s the biggest embedded show I?ve been to in the last 15 years and very well run with decent news value. The Embedded World floor was jammed the whole first day.

We – Open Systems Media – have a booth at the show (pictured here), strategically placed near the International News Stand. We’ve had several good meetings and the German companies are very open with the press.

I also have to comment on the press room, which was high class, and a much better set up than anything I’ve seen at U.S. events. The room was big with plenty of seating in addition to a generous number of computer cubicles with printers for media to file stories as well as secure lockers to store our stuff.

And yes… there were free soft drinks and snacks available.

The Germans definitely know how to do trade shows. We’ll be back next year.
