Lockheed Martin selects Verotec rack cases to outfit Multi Scout armored vehicles for U.K.
Artist's concept: Verotec

MANCHESTER, N.H. Verotec has been chosen by Lockheed Martin to provide custom 19-inch, 6U, 600 mm deep rack cases to house part of the intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) system in the next-generation AJAX armored fighting vehicles developed for the British army. The AJAX program is a project headed by General Dynamics UK.

The ISTAR capability at the heart of the AJAX vehicle enables the soldier to directly collect accurate, all-weather commander information within a network-enabled digitized platform. Verotec will provide nine different versions of ruggedized 600 mm deep steel rack cases, fully earth bonded and fitted with steel engraved front panels, custom chassis trays, and heavy duty bar handles. The rack cases are designed to withstand the increased shock and vibration levels experienced in tracked vehicles.

Lockheed Martin UK previously garnered a $1 billion contract to deliver 245 enhanced turrets for the tanks; these augmented turrets contribute significantly to the ISTAR, survivability, and lethality of the AJAX Reconnaissance vehicle variant.
