Northrop Grumman selects IEE's 3.5-inch display for JCREW program

VAN NUYS, Calif. Northrop Grumman officials selected Industrial Electronic Engineers' (IEE) 3.5-inch hand-held control display unit (CDU) to use in the Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (JCREW) Increment 1 Block 1 (I1B1) program.

Northrop Grummon engineers developed the JCREW system for the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command, (NAVSEA). It is a software-programmable jammer that provides protection from device-triggered improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The microprocessor-based CDU with a dual backlit QVGA color LCD display and NVIS, along with a sealed 9-key keypad will be used in the low-rate initial production of the system.
