MARLBOROUGH, Mass. Officials at the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command awarded Raytheon a modification contract for design and engineering support on the sensor-netting system for the Navy?s Cooperative Engagement Capability.

CEC provides early detection and consistent tracking of manned aircraft, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It derives from a high-bandwidth military communications system that consists of electronic countermeasures that integrate the global positioning system (GPS).

The Raytheon CEC system is a weapons-linked, secure, high-speed network that interconnects the Navy sensors in air defense systems.
