SAN FRANSISCO, Calif. The Open Group, the vendor-neutral technology consortium, has announced the launch of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Business Guide, Version 3.0.

According to officials, this guide will aim to deliver additional critical industry information on the value proposition and business case for the FACE Approach.

Some of the specific enhancements included are a more detailed description of the FACE Approach; recent Department of Defense, Army, Navy, and Air Force Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) policy and guidance, and details on how the FACE Approach addresses all five Principles of MOSA.

“With emerging threats and limited resources, our leadership has challenged us to provide more capabilities to our warfighters faster with less funding by utilizing Modular Open Systems Approach,” says Joe Carter, FACE Consortium Steering Committee Chair and U.S. Army PEO Aviation G10 Systems Engineering Branch Chief. “The FACE Consortium was an early adopter of all the aspects, including an established conformance certification program, which now form the 5 Principles of MOSA. This FACE Business Guide effectively explains the value of the FACE Approach for both government and industry.”
