GEELONG, Australia. Rockwell Collins engineers are providing the Australian army with its mobile Joint Fires Observer (JFO)/Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) simulator.

This system, which is part of the RealFires family of JFO and JTAC simulators, will be housed at the School of Artillery and is integrated with the Rockwell Collins FireStorm Integrated Targeting System. The Rockwell Collins FireStorm system is the core of the Land 17 Phase 1B Digital Terminal Control System (DTCS). The RealFires system is a scalable solution that may be delivered as a range of training solutions, from the desktop to 360-degree immersive dome.

The JFO/JTAC simulator delivered to Australia's School of Artillery has training room facilities, a 270-degree dome, high fidelity graphics, and a full simulation of FireStorm sensors.
