NUREMBERG, Germany. A new 3U CompactPC multi-display controller -- the G214 -- that can manage six displays simultaneously was announced by officials at MEN Mikro Elektronik Gmbh at the Embedded World show in Nuremberg, Germany this week. The new device leverages the AMD Radeon E6760 General Purpose Processor (GPU) running at 600 megahertz.

The GPU has 480 stream processors with a power dissipation of 35 watts. The support of OpenCL on the GPU enables the computing power to be increased using GPGPU.

The G214 has four DisplayPort 1.2 interfaces at the front that have a maximum resolution of 4096 by 2560 at 60 hertz with a color depth of 24 bpp. With a wider front panel two more DisplayPorts can be added for a resolution of 2560 by 1600.
