FLIR Systems to deliver Recon B2-FO hand-held snipers to DMO

PORTLAND. FLIR Systems, Inc. has announced the delivery of the Recon B2-FO, a hand-held sniper and forward-observer targeting sensor, to the Royal Netherlands Ministry of Defense (DMO). The orders will fulfill a $14 million contract with FLIR Systems and the DMO.
The modular Recon B2-FO is equipped with a day camera, digital magnetic compass, GPS, Laser Rangefinder (LRF), and Medium-Wave Infrared (MWIR) thermal camera. The Recon B2-FO is equipped with various system configurations, which allows the user to choose between celestial, gyroscopic, magnetic, or manual options for targeting.
“This order represents our commitment to identifying threats through usage of our long-range thermal handheld sensors,” says President of FLIR Government Systems, Bill Sundermeier. “Our proven ability to provide state-of-the-art imaging technologies that are critical to detect, recognize, and identify threats are developed on a commercial basis, resulting in lightweight, lower cost, and reduced delivery time for our customers.”
The Recon B2-FOs are manufactured in Billerica, Mass.
