U.S. Army's manned ground vehicles will get new navigation system from Collins Aerospace

AUSA 2019--WASHINGTON. Collins Aerospace Systems -- a United Technologies unit -- announced that it has been chosen by the U.S. Army to provide a next-generation Mounted Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing System (MAPS) for manned ground vehicles.
The system --called "MAPS Gen II" by the Army -- will ensure that troops can maintain their integrity of positioning and timing during operations in GPS-contested environments. It uses Collins Aerospace’s NavHub-100 navigation system and digital GPS antijam receiver-100 (DIGAR-100) to enhance protection levels against evolving GPS threats on the battlefield. Collins Aerospace will also add Military Code (M-Code) capability and its Modernized Signal Tracking (MST) system, which it says will enhance GPS integrity.
Collins Aerospace will deliver new systems for one year's evaluation, with the potential for fielding up to 8,000 additional vehicles upon completion.
