AUSTIN, Texas. SparkCognition Government Systems (SGS) announced that it has won a contract with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) through its SBIR program. Through this contract, SGS will leverage commercial and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to explore the uses of machine learning (ML) to enhance aspects of readiness, including manpower planning and decision optimization.

Aerojet Rocketdyne and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) claim to have achieved record levels of thrust by a scramjet engine. The AFRL-Aerojet Rocketdyne team completed a series of hot-fire tests of an advanced air-breathing hypersonic engine under the U.S. Air Force’s Medium Scale Critical Components (MSCC) program.

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio. Flight testing of the ROBOpilot unmanned air platform has been resumed by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Center for Rapid Innovation (CRI) and DZYNE Technologies Incorporated. The platform completed a fourth flight test at Dugway Proving Ground, Utah, during which ROBOpilot flew for approximately 2.2 hours, completing all test objectives.

SAN DIEGO. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc.(GA-ASI), in cooperation with defense contractor SRC Inc. (Syracuse, New York) reports that it successfully integrated and flew the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Agile Condor Pod on an MQ-9 remotely piloted sircraft (RPA) at GA-ASI’s Flight Test and Training Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
