AUSTRALIA. Thales Australia, Microsoft, and Australian companies Myriad Technologies, archTIS, and Fortifyedge have partnered to launch Nexium Defense Cloud Edge (NDC Edge), a secure Tactical cloud computing capability designed for the edge of the battlespace.

Developed in Australia for the Australian Defense Force, NDC Edge is intended to deliver a sovereign capability, built on Microsoft Azure Stack technology, that is designed to be compatible with Five Eyes nations, as well as humanitarian aid and civilian applications.

The theater-level NDC Edge is engineered to enable the analysis and distribution of data in real time to accelerate the decision-making cycle. This secure tactical Warfighting Cloud is intended to give deployed forces access to the right information at the right time to enable rapid and informed decisions.

NDC Edge is also designed with different possible configurations, from high-capacity and scalable infrastructure to all-in-one containerized systems that can establish a headquarters as a cloud node and link it to deployed forces.
