ORLANDO. Software company Mass Virtual has won a five-year, $59 million contract to provide virtual training in partnership with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Integrated Technology Platform (ITP); first orders totaling $8.1 million are scheduled to be completed by end of FY 2021.

Mass Virtual, according to company information, will support the USAF's push toward increased use of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality with its Virtual Hangar enterprise platform, which the Air Force will use to deliver training on more than 20 aircraft platforms to service members stationed around the world.

Under the terms of the contract, Mass Virtual will deliver virtual aircraft real-time task manual instruction. The systems will simulate actual workspaces for training, occupational safety and health, and educational purposes throughout the Air Force.
