Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials granted the Boeing-built U.S. Air Force KC-46 tanker program a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), verifying that its refueling and mission avionics systems meet FAA requirements. The milestone marks completion of KC-46 FAA certification.

Intelligent-systems developer Charles River Analytics has received additional funding from the U.S. Army to further build out a traumatic-injury prediction mobile app for front-line troops, which it calls Ensemble Prediction for Combat Casualty Care (EPIC3). Charles River says that the application can reduce the number of preventable deaths from battlefield injuries by resolving the issues faced by medics in the field.
