Gerstenmaier said that his agency is studying concepts for launching the first elements of the proposed outpost as secondary payloads on early flights of the Space Launch System (SLS).

A consortium of enterprises led by DCS Corp. has been awarded a $15 million ceiling increase to the Cognition and Neuroergonomics Collaborative Technology Alliance (CaN CTA) cooperative agreement aimed at expanding research into computational neuroscience for the U.S. Army. The recent increase brings the total potential value of the cooperative agreement to $65 million; in addition, DCS is also the prime contractor on the companion contract for technology transition, with a potential total value of $80 million.
