ANNAPOLIS, Md. Annapolis Micro Systems has developed a next-generation 3U OpenVPX Chassis that is both SOSA-aligned and 40/100Gb Ethernet capable.

The COTS benchtop Chassis (WC3170) is designed to economically speed development of 40/100GbE Systems that are aligned with the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Technical Standard.

The front-loading air-cooled Chassis with backplane has seven conduction-cooled slots including 4 Payload, 1 I/O-intensive SBC, 1 40/100GbE Switch, and 1 VITA 62 Power Supply delivering 700W.

Payload slots feature VITA 66.5C and VITA 67.3C connectivity, and optional MIL-DTL-38999 SOSA-aligned circular connectors with 19 RF connections. Other cabling options are also available, including fiber optic. Included is an Annapolis-designed and manufactured Chassis Manager. It is SOSA-aligned and VITA 46.11 compliant, and is powered by a Xilinx UltraScale+ ZU5EG MPSoC.

With SOSA Version 1.0 anticipated to publish in 2021, this stock Chassis is timed to facilitate the rapid development and testing of boards and systems that are aligned with this super-standard, according to the company.
