SANTA BARBARA, Calif. Image-sensing technology provider Senseeker Engineering has anounced the availability of the Magnesium MIL RP0092, an advanced 12 µm pitch high dynamic range dual-band digital pixel readout IC (DPROIC), offered to users who have approval from the U.S. government.

The DROIC is intended to enable high-definition dual-band imaging for reconnaissance, surveillance, and target-acquisition applications.

According to company officials, the Magnesium MIL RP0092 supports a 1,280 x 720 frame size at up to 120 frames per second (fps), with dual-polarity inputs that are compatible and can be used with industry-standard direct-injection compatible detector materials. The wide dynamic range enables the part to capture distant ice-cold objects in the same frame in which hot targets are resolved in high detail. The digital pixel architecture also enables a more efficient design that helps to optimize the size, weight, power consumption, and cost (SWaP-C) of the infrared imaging system.
