High-density processor module undergoes testing in USAF led Generation Radar Study program
NewsSeptember 09, 2015
CHELMSFORD, Mass. In a U.S. Air Force (USAF) led Generation Radar Processor Study, Mercury’s Ensemble HDS6603 satisfied performance requirements when executing USAF-provided ground moving target indicator (GMTI) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) benchmarks. The modules also demonstrated its performance thresholds, providing in excess of 4 TFLOPS of computing power.
The goal of the radar study program is to assess the capability of current embedded computing open architectures to perform airborne radar signal processing on future USAF platforms.
The fourth generation module meets the DoD’s affordability, security, modularity, and OSA requirements, says Ian Dunn, Vice President and General Manager of Mercury’s Embedded Products Group. The Ensemble is a high-density processing module introduced last year by Mercury.
