Product details of Altera's Stratix 10 FPGAs and SoCs released

SAN JOSE, Calif. The product and architectural details was released of Altera’s Stratix 10 FPGAs and SoCs, the programmable logic devices that deliver performance, integration, density, and security.

With this product customers can address design challenges in the next generation of communications, data center, IoT infrastructure, military, and high-performance computing systems that combine GPU-class floating point computation performance and heterogeneous 3-D SiP integration.

Stratix 10 FPGAs and SoCs provides 2X higher core performance over previous generation FPGAS, it leverages Altera’s HyperFlex FPGA fabric architecture that was built on Intel’s 14nm Tri-Gate process, an architecture that enables the device to benefit from design techniques such as register retiming and pipelining by introducing registers throughout all core interconnect routing segments. HyperFlex architectures also allow logic area requirements to be reduced and enable designs to perform up to 70 percent lower power.

The family of Stratix 10 FPGA and SoC also leverage heterogeneous 3-D SiP integration. The cost effective integration of monolithic FPGA core fabric with other components increase the scalability and flexibility of Stratix 10 FPGAs and SoCs. The heterogeneous 3-D SiP integration is enabled through the use of Intel’s Embedded Multi-die Interconnect Bridge technology.

Partnered with Athena Group and IntrinsicID, the Stratix 10 FPGAs and SoCs will come with a Secure Design Manager (SDM) that delivers sector-based authentication and encryption multi-factor authentication and physically unclonable function (PUF) technology.
