Laser-guided rocket launcher concept can support combat operations

WASHINGTON--AUSA. Arnold Defense has introduced FLETCHER, a land-vehicle-mounted, laser-guided, 2.75-inch rocket launcher concept to the U.S. defense market at the Association of the United States Army Exhibition (AUSA).
The “FLETCHER” 2.75-inch/70 mm Weapon System, say Arnold officials, can be mounted on land-based military vehicles and potentially on marine and littoral platforms to support forces in the field.
FLETCHER uses an existing suite of guidance modules, rockets, and warheads --those already used in well-known programs and readily available to global forces -- together with Arnold Defense's technology to make an integrated weapon system that can engage targets at ranges of as much as 3.1 miles, giving land forces a capability that previously required the deployment of air assets.
Jim Hager, president and CEO of Arnold Defense, said that he believes that the FLETCHER system will be ready for sale toward the end of 2018.
