Passive radar system is integrated on GA-ASI's Predator B

SAN DIEGO. Raytheon Deutschland GmbH and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA?ASI) engineers will integrate the Advanced Radar Detection System (ARDS) ? an Electronic Support Measure (ESM) system for passive radar monitoring ? on a standard pod that will be mounted on the centerline hard point of GA-ASI?s unmanned aerial system (UAS), the Predator B/MQ-9 Reaper.
Raytheon Deutschland designed and developed ARDS on the basis of modules, which are produced in Spain and the UK. It provides passive, wide-area electronic intelligence (ELINT) over land and sea.
In the second half of 2017, the GA-ASI and Raytheon team plans to execute developmental and operational flight-tests. Currently, the team is freezing the design of the integration hardware that will make this capability available to customers in 2018.
