UNITED KINGDOM. Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) was deployed to assist Royal Air Force (RAF), Royal Navy (RN), and U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) F-35B aircrew training as a component of the Exercise Joint Warrior military exercise in Europe.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. Abaco Systems announced that it has won orders from a major U.S. prime contractor to deploy the company's single board computer and avionics solutions as part of a next-generation, Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA)-aligned, 3U VPX embedded computer system for advanced electronic warfare (EW), signals intelligence (SIGINT), and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) applications.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. According to the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), the U.S. Army will help to guide research at a $7.5 million Department of Defense (DoD) center of excellence created to deliver artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

BRAZIL. Embraer delivered the first modernized EMB 145 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C), designated E-99, to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). According to the company, four additional E-99 aircraft will be modernized as part of the contract.

POWAY, Calif. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc.(GA-ASI) has won a $93.3 million contract from the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) to enhance the autonomous sensing capabilities of unmanned aircraft.

FRANCE, UNITED KINGDOM. Thales has won a joint contract to start the production phase of the Maritime Mine Counter Measures (MMCM) to deliver eight unmanned mine hunting systems to France and the U.K..

GERMANY. Rheinmetall has won a contract to develop a future laser weapon system component. At the end of the second quarter of 2020, the Federal Office for Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology, and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) contracted with Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH to fabricate a laser source demonstrator. 

HAIFA, Israel. Elbit Systems Ltd. announced that it has won a contract to supply the E-LynX Software Defined Radio (SDR) solution for the combat battalion level of the Spanish Army.

ADELPHI, Md. Research being conducted by the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) is focused on a new machine learning approach that could improve radar performance in congested environments.

GERMANY. Rheinmetall has added a new system to its family of Mission Master Autonomous - Unmanned Ground Vehicle (A-UGV): the Mission Master – Armed Reconnaissance. The UGV is equipped with intelligence-gathering technology and a Rheinmetall Fieldranger remote-controlled weapon station (RCWS).

ALEXANDRIA, Va. DCS Corporation, a company offering technology, engineering, and management solutions to government agencies in the Department of Defense, has won a five-year, $48 million prime task order to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Intelligence, Surveillance  and Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces (ISR/SOF) Directorate's Global Hawk Division under the Air Force's EPASS program.

EUROPE. Germany, Spain, and France the three driving forces of the NGWS/FCAS program, have entrusted FCMS, Indra, and Thales with the development of a suite of sensors that will aim to equip the Future European Combat Air System.

AUSTIN, Texas. Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., provider of high-performance, jet-powered unmanned aerial systems (UAS), announced that it has acquired 5-D Systems, Inc., a CMMI Level 3 Systems and Software Engineering company.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) received a subcontract from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to support the U.S. Navy's endeavors with Advanced Hypersonic Technologies through the Global Deterrence and Defense Department (Code GX) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Crane, Indiana.

HAIFA, Israel. Elbit Systems has launched E-LynX-Sat, a compact satellite communications (SATCOM) add-on system. The new system utilizes a lightweight terminal that interfaces with Elbit Systems’ E-LynX Software Defined Radio (SDR) solution.
