Elbit Systems acquires IMI Systems for $495 million - News

HAIFA, Israel. International high-tech contractor Elbit Systems has completed its acquisition of defense-systems company IMI Systems (Ramat Ha Sharon, Israel) for a purchase price of approximately $495 million (NIS 1.8 billion), with an additional payment of approximately $27 million (NIS 100 million) contingent upon IMI meeting agreed performance goals.

Officials at the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) tapped Elbit Systems Ltd. to supply electronic warfare (EW) suites for the Israeli navy Sa'ar 6-class corvettes that will be tasked with the protection of Israel's Economic Exclusion Zone. The $85 million contract will be performed over a 10-year period.

Elbit Systems of Australia won a contract worth $150 million (AU$186 million) from the Australian Department of Defense?s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group to provide Through Life Support (TLS) services to the Australian Defense Force (ADF) for the Elbit-supplied Battle Management System Command and Control (BMS C2).

HAIFA, Israel. Elbit Systems Ltd. has won a follow-on $46 million contract to supply additional J-Music Direct Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) self-protection systems to NATO for its Airbus A330 Multinational Multi-Role Tanker Transport Fleet (MMF) Program. NATO will also install Elbit's Infra-Red-based Passive Airborne Warning Systems (PAWS IR). Work on the contract will be performed over a four-year period.
